At about 6:15 p.m on March 28 a tornado struck downtown Fort Worth, Texas causing extensive damage. A second tornado struck a few minutes later in Arlington and Grand Prairie, southeast of Fort Worth. Thunderstorms associated with the tornadoes brought torrential rain to the Dallas-Fort Worth area that caused flash flooding which killed three people. Flooding was reported along the Trinity River and Chambers Creek on March 30. In the TRMM TMI data below heavy rain can be seen over the Dallas-Fort Worth area on March 29 and 30.

Rainfall and snowfall: yellow and white areas (yellowish white is highest intensity precipitation)

Oceans: light blue (low water vapour) to dark blue (high water vapour)
